About Us

MAX Factory: Redefining Performance Innovation

At MAX Factory, our mission is bold yet clear — to take iconic performance shoes and make them better. Much better. We achieve this through a precise, data-driven process: reverse-engineering Nike’s original designs and upgrading key components such as cushioning systems, midsole foams, and upper materials. The result? Elite-level performance that surpasses retail offerings.

Why MAX Factory Is Different

We never compromise. Every shoe we produce is purpose-built to outperform the original. Our materials are sourced or specially modified for next-level responsiveness and long-term durability. Each design revision is guided by a singular purpose — to serve the athlete better.

How We Upgrade Our Shoes

  • Reverse-Engineered Cushioning — Improved & Enhanced
We study Nike’s advanced cushioning systems (Zoom Turbo, Heel Zoom Air, Zoom Strobel, Forefoot Zoom Air, React) and rebuild them to be bouncier, more responsive, and more durable.

  • Examples of Our Upgrades

    • Kobe 6
Retail: Forefoot Zoom Air + Cushlon midsole
MAX Upgrade: Adds Heel Zoom Air, swaps to Zoom Turbo forefoot unit, replaces Cushlon with bouncier Phylon midsole for maximum energy return.

    • Kobe 5 (Kobe Version)
Retail: Forefoot Zoom Air + Cushlon
MAX Upgrade: Forefoot Zoom Turbo + enhanced heel support for balanced impact protection and court feel.

  • React Foam Redefined
Our proprietary foam compound, inspired by Nike React, is engineered for greater bounce and responsiveness.

Restoration vs. Enhancement

Our work falls into two categories:

  • Restorations: Faithfully rebuild classics like the GT Cut 1, restoring their full performance profile.

  • Enhancements: Improve existing designs, e.g., upgrading GT Cut 3 with additional heel Zoom unit for better cushioning consistency.

Scientific Testing & Athlete-Driven Design

Before release, every MAX-modified shoe undergoes:

  • Mechanical stress testing

  • Compression & bounce analysis

  • On-court trials with athlete feedback

No change is made without proven performance gains.
